Cruel and Usual

Welcome to Cruel and Usual.

I intend to write about how, why, and who we incarcerate in America, both in criminal detention and so-called “executive detention.” That’s mostly immigration prison, but also Guantanamo, for those who don’t speak the legalese of the American bureaucracy.

Although I aspire to writing weekly, “usual” will probably not refer to the frequency with which the newsletter is sent. 

It’s paywall free for now, until I figure out if writing it regularly is sustainable.
